cobb landmarks Partners with Marietta City Schools

Cobb Landmarks will be partnering with Marietta City Schools to produce an exhibit panel for display inside Marietta High School. The exhibit panel will explore the desegregation of Marietta City Schools in 1964, focusing specifically on Marietta High School’s first Black students, Daphne Delk and Treville Grady.

“This project is an example of Cobb Landmarks’ commitment to making sure that every story is told and every voice is heard - past and present,” said Cobb Landmarks Executive Director Trevor Beemon. “I want to empower students with an understanding of the events and people from the past who helped form their present.” The panel will be unveiled in February as part of Marietta High School’s Black History Month programming.
