STAFF & LEADERSHIP

Picture
TREVOR BEEMON
Executive Director, Cobb Landmarks & Historical Society, Inc.

Trevor’s commitment to Cobb County’s history began at age twelve, when he first began volunteering for Cobb Landmarks at the William Root House. That early passion led him to Kennesaw State University (KSU), where he earned a degree in American History and a Certificate in Public History. With a career that includes key roles at the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History and the Atlanta History Center, Trevor brings a wealth of expertise to Cobb Landmarks. He is a past chairman of the Acworth Historic Preservation Commission (2022–2025) and currently serves on the Marietta Arts Council advisory board. His contributions have been recognized with the KSU Outstanding Alumnus Award (2015) and Cobb Life Magazine’s "20 Under 40" (2020).

LIZ MALONE
Curator, William Root House Museum & Garden

Liz has worked at the Root House Museum since 2018 and wears a lot of hats: curator, educator, adult and special events programmer, volunteer/docent manager, lecturer, and tour guide. There's nothing she loves more than spreading her passion for 19th century history and the Root family to the Cobb County community. She is a member of the Georgia Association of Museums and the Southeastern Museum Conference. Liz received her master’s degree in American Studies with an emphasis in material culture and museum studies from The George Washington University in Washington DC. While there, she worked at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History and at Tudor Place Historic House & Gardens. Liz has lived in six states and three countries, but always feels most at home in a museum.
