CLARISSA LYNCH
Food Historian, William Root House Museum & Garden

As a child, Clarissa would watch her grandmother cook on a wood burning stove. This was the start of her fascination with food history. When she's not educating visitors at the William Root House, she can be found demonstrating open-hearth and campfire cooking at local historic sites and battlefields. Her personal motto is: have pots - will travel. She's always willing to discuss recipes and cooking techniques with others and loves teaching the public about southern foodways.

When she is not coordinating events or volunteering with the Master Gardeners, she can most often be found exploring museums or local book shops.
