TREVOR BEEMON
Executive Director, Cobb Landmarks & Historical Society, Inc. Trevor began volunteering for Cobb Landmarks at the William Root House Museum at the age of twelve. He attended Kennesaw State University (KSU) where he received a degree in American History and completed the Public History Certificate Program. Previously, Trevor worked at the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History and the Atlanta History Center. He is currently chairman of the Acworth Historic Preservation Commission, and serves as an advisory board member for the Marietta Arts Council. Trevor received the Outstanding Alumnus Award from the KSU College of Humanities and Social Sciences in 2015 and was named to the "20 Under 40" list by Cobb Life Magazine in 2020. |
LIZ MALONE
Program Coordinator, William Root House Museum & Garden Liz received her master’s degree in American Studies with an emphasis in material culture and museum studies from The George Washington University in Washington DC. While there, she worked at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History and at Tudor Place Historic House & Gardens in a variety of curatorial and educational roles. She has broad experience in education, having worked in a variety of roles ranging from standards-based test development, editing, instruction, and administration. Liz has lived in six different states and three different countries, but always feels most at home in a museum. |
CLARISSA LYNCH
Food Historian, William Root House Museum & Garden As a child, Clarissa would watch her grandmother cook on a wood burning stove. This was the start of her fascination with food history. When she's not educating visitors at the William Root House, she can be found demonstrating open-hearth and campfire cooking at local historic sites and battlefields. Her personal motto is: have pots - will travel. She's always willing to discuss recipes and cooking techniques with others and loves teaching the public about southern foodways. |
SHEENA YOE
Visitor Services & Event Rentals, William Root House Museum & Garden Sheena studied Business Marketing and Management at West Central College. She continues her love of learning with the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art, where she is a member. She is a local artist who is continually inspired by historical homes, churches, and gardens, and enjoys using her creativity to bring weddings and special events to life. When she is not coordinating events or volunteering with the Master Gardeners, she can most often be found exploring museums or local book shops. |
JANICE HOOVER
Visitor Services, William Root House Museum & Garden Janice has lived in historic homes in Marietta for 25 years, including the McClaren Mill Lofts, and, most recently, the Forest Hills Historic District. Working at the William Root House feels very much like home to her. Janice is retired from Cobb Legal Aid and is active in several community organizations. |
