Cobb Landmarks celebrates the arrival of spring each year by hosting a spring garden party in various locales that many say is the event of the season. An heirloom plant sale is held in the Root House garden, where old-fashioned perennials, new and unusual varieties, and "pass along" plants from some of Marietta's finest gardeners are available.
Spring into the past and visit stops along Cobb County's heritage highway. This event opens private historic properties around the county to the public and enables free visits to participating museums and historic sites. Participating sites in past years have included Marietta's Smith-Manning House, the Lawrence House, the Root House Museum, Brumby Hall and Gardens and the Marietta Museum of History; Acworth's Cowen House and African American Resources; Smyrna's Taylor-Brawner House and the Smyrna Museum; Powder Springs' Cheney-Newcomer House and Seven Springs Museum; and east Cobb's Power Cabin. The tour is self guided and brochures will be made available.
